Introducing Build Skills Together classes specially designed to help our Net Buddies prepare for (and conquer) their end-of-year exams. Since academics are a focus all year long, these classes are designed to equip our teens with smart strategies for studying and controlling stress before and while writing exams. As you can see, we really had their attention!
What surprised our Net Buddies the most during this session? That using the way they breathe can be as, or probably more important, than last-minute cramming. It was also comforting for them to learn that even U.S. Navy Seals get nervous on missions. So, they developed their own “Box Breathing” technique to help them maintain optimum focus and performance. If it helps those tough soldiers, surely it will be useful to the rest of us. Ready? Breath in (thru the nose) 1-2-3-4, hold 1-2-3-4, breath out 1-2-3-4, hold 1-2-3-4. Repeat at least 6 times.
