It’s hard to learn how to be a good parent without your own parents to teach you tips and tools, but also the resilience and resourcefulness needed during tantrums and sleepless nights.
At Infinite Family, we know the time, love, and experience our Video Mentors share with their Net Buddies are invaluable in preparing the next generation to take on this most important and challenging role. Through our teens’ ups and downs, they are learning and practicing skills that will serve them well in future jobs — and at home too! If you are a parent or have ever spent even a few hours alone with a young child, you know that being able to communicate well, resolve conflicts, and work together are critical for managing the most unpredictable situations and maintaining your sanity.
By definition, making an impact that brides generations requires years and patience. Maintaining the relationship that brings it to light takes deep caring and commitment. These strong words certainly describe the enduring friendship between our Net Buddy Patricia and her Video Mentor, who is also named Patricia. Young Patricia was only 12 when they met in 2007. Seventeen years later, they are still in regular contact! Here is a message Patricia sent to her Video Mentor and her husband last week:
Wow🤗😍.. This is beautiful😭 [and] takes me back to how it all started and how much Joy and love you and Mom brought into my life[.]❤️ Ur love [saved] me from [a lot] of things and I will forever be in God’s debt for having such a great blessing. A big part of the [woman] I turned out to be is because of you both[.]❤️ Mom has picked me up and dusted me off with all the love and care she could, the support you both have given me has encouraged me to let nothing ever break me and it wouldn’t been such a beautiful story if it wasn’t for Infinite Family…so much appreciation [for] them and all the work [they’re] doing. 🥰💞
Today, Net Blazer Patricia is raising her own family, including two lovely children. When asked about being a parent, she shared, “I believe a parent’s love is the foundation on which a child’s world is built, so I show and give them that unconditionally. They are great kids.” With her example, they will be great parents too!
