A big thanks to Manuela Molina of Mind Heart Kids for this very graphic way to understand what coronavirus/covid 19 is, it’s affect on humans, and what we can do to keep it away from us and those we love.

hello coronavirus
To defeat this pandemic we all need to stand together and adhere to the rules and let health professional’s to deal with it. Things are complicated and not easy to adjust to the changes but surely everything has its time. This too shall pass. stay strong
Good day, I got a chance to empower others about this virus
I learnt that when I cough I should always cover my mouth with a flexed elbow and taking care of myself.
I have a question what will happen later in the future will the virus be gone or will it wipe out half of the population on Earth?
Hi Elizabeth,
Pandemic is a big and scary word, but no one predicts coronavirus to kill that many people. Sadly, however, every person who loses someone can feel like the world is crashing down around them. We will all have to support each other through this.
I find this information concerning COVID-19 helpful to me and the people around me.
Hi
People please stay at home and keep on washing your hands regularly as requested and thank you very much informing us about CORONAVIRUS/ COVID 19.
I think the lock down is helping because the corona virus will not spread around. and when the corona virus ends we can all go back to school and every thing will be just fine and we will be free and every one will be happy.
When I am at home I feel like going to school because I am already missing school I want to ask when are going to school because we mighty fail our grades because we are not going to school these day. Please make sure to wash your hands with soap warm water because we don’t want to get sick guys please make sure everyday you need to wash your hand ever single day each day because if you don’t wash your hand you are going to get sick.
The idea behind the lockdown is that anyone who is already infected and anyone they can infect in the first week of the lockdown should no longer be contagious after 21 days. By making it impossible to spread Covid 19, South Africa should be able to mostly stop it after 21 days.
That said, it takes time to slow the speed of new infections. The number of cases will continue to rise for up to 14 days from now since people who were infected before the Lockdown will start to know they are infected. But by making it impossible for them to spread it further, new infections will stop rising. This is called “Flettening the Curve” and is what countries around the world are all trying to do.
In New York, we have been staying home for almost 2 weeks now and the news says they think it is helping to slow new infections, so Stay HOME in order to Stay Safe and Stay Strong!
Good Day,
My question is what will happen after 21 days, Because the number of case is increasing day by day?
Hi Moses, thank you for your good question. It would be difficult to predict what will happen after 21 days. As Amy explained, the purpose is to slow down the speed of new infections.
We may still see a rise in numbers for a couple of weeks but hopefully the numbers will go down if we all adhere to the guidelines of the lockdown. Staying at home and maintaining good hygiene are key to the success of this intervention.
Thank you.
