Monkey Wisdom: Even Monkeys Fall Out of Trees

Monkeys are excellent climbers; they know which branches to swing on. At the first sign of danger an alarm call will be signaled and the troop will disappear high up into the trees where it is safe. But sometimes, even monkeys fall out of trees.

You are born perfect, but what you think and do is not always perfect. To admit your imperfections does not mean that you are a failure. Everyone can make a mistake. Sometimes people think that if a man is currently successful, he has always been that way. They do not realise that he has had his share of flops, failures, and fumbles.

Only those who are prepared to make mistakes can ever win, because we learn far more from our mistakes than from our triumphs. In fact, recognition and acceptance of your own shortcomings often help you to develop your potential and capabilities.

Do not fear mistakes; do not fear to step outside your comfort zone. The more responsibility you take on, the higher the likelihood that you will make mistakes. Fear only the absence of creative and corrective responses to those mistakes. Don’t blame others for your mistakes, admit them and then do yourself a favour and get on and fix them.

The most excellent thing about mistakes is that they are gifts of opportunity. From your own mistakes you can gain wisdom and accelerate self-improvement. Growth begins when we start to accept our own weakness.

Dear Net Buddies,

How does it make you feel to hear that mistakes should be welcome as learning opportunities rather than avoided at all costs?

Do you think it is possible to learn from someone else’s mistakes or do you need to make them yourself?

If someone uses the terms “expensive mistakes” or “inexpensive mistakes,” what do you think they mean?

Alright Net Buddies, it would be a BIG mistake to avoid responding to this post. Besides these monkeys are sooooo cute, aren’t they? Isn’t that worth choosing this post as one of your responses this week? We agree, so share your thoughts with us.
